Wall Museum Checkpoint Charlie

The Mauermuseum - Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie was founded shortly after the construction of the Berlin Wall in August 1961 and opened in October 1962. Its founder, Dr Rainer Hildebrandt, stood up for the victims of the Wall at Checkpoint Charlie and helped those seeking freedom. The museum houses evidence of successful escapes and is a museum of the international non-violent struggle.
